Pickguard compatibility?

Sign in to disble this ad
Would a pickguard from a P/J bass fit a regular Precision bass?
I've always wondered...
since the input thing is in the same place as the 3rd knob on the P/J...

thanks!

Maybe. But more than likely no, the screw holes may not line up, and the neck pocket also may not line up.

thanks for the reply.
but SHOULDNT THEY line up, if they're both made by, say Fender?
Shouldnt the screw holes all be the same, and the dimensions of the pickguard, neck pocket, etc?

Varies from bass to bass, series to series, year to year.
