Pickguard Shield

Sign in to disble this ad
I am changing the pickguard on my 2005 USA P-Bass and I noticed that the original pickguard has a foil shield on the lower back of the guard. My Fender replacement has no foil on the back. Do I need to have a shield on the new pickguard and if so where can I purchase one?

Hi boomba,

I would definitely shield the pickguard, it should help reduce or eliminate any sort of electronic noise from your bass.

You can get copper shielding tape from stewmac.com.

You can also get aluminum tape, really cheap, at most hardware stores.
