Pickup Height Question

Sign in to disble this ad
When I play with my fingers on the E and A strings it seems to get distorted. Maybe a little popping, but the biggest thing I notice is I am hearing my fingers rubbing across the strings through my amp. I never heard this sound before. I just had a set up done and everything else is good, but that sound. Does this sound like a pickup height problem? The bass is a fender jazz.

It's very ease to change the pickup height. You can do it yourself. Just try lowering them in increments until you find the sound you like. Too close to the strings can give you some of what you're experiencing.

Yeah it has new strings on it. I don't recall hearing this the last time I put new strings on. I will try lowering the pickup on the bass side when I get home form work. Thanks
