Pickup screw problem (I think)

Sign in to disble this ad
Good afternoon.

I was adjusting my pickup height today on my Tbird, and I ran into a problem.
The screws that hold it in place are coming unthreaded like they're supposed to, but the pickups remain in the same position.
My question is: Are they stuck, or is there another way to do this that I have yet to learn.

Thanks in advance

Ravyn

It sounds like the foam rubber under the pickup has compressed and won't push the pickup up as it's supposed to. Yours might use springs around the mounting screws or surgical rubber tubing. The solution is to cut a piece of foam and put it under the pickup. Unless there is something weird where the pickup is off kilter and getting wedged in place. Take the pickups off and take a look. Easy fix.

Yea, I was thinking that myself. I'll give it a try.
