Placing a Jazz Bass Bridge/Pickup cover

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there guys,

I want to install my Squier Jazz Bass with the Fender Jazz Bass Bridge and Pickup cover to see if I also want it on my *future* Fender.
Drilling a hole around the bridge won't be a problem, but I am worried about drilling a hole around the Neck pickup, should I do it by a pro, or just DIY? Because I am worried damaging the wires inside.
I currently use the Affinity series bass.

Hope to receive a reply a.s.a.p.

Rama

Ps. sorry for my english, I am Dutch.

If you are nervous about where the wires are and aren't sure of how to determine exactly where they are, I would definitely say, turn it over to a PRO. You seem like you would be over your head from the GitGo and why risk ruining your BASS. I don't mean to insult you but, you really have to be comfortable with drilling or operatiing on your instrument or Risk it all and since you have a choice, be safe, rather than sorry. IMHO. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

Well sorry for the late post, but here he/she (I don't know) is:

I noticed that the Neck Pup cover was slightly crooked, but I just loosened the screw a bit and slide the cover straight.

I just DIY'ed it, I took the pickguard off and I saw that there was no way that the screws could hit the wiring.
