Plastic Chrome Fender Dome Knobs

Sign in to disble this ad
So I figure that the 4 metal knobs I have on my modded 76 Precision add close to a pound to the weight of that bass, and plastic knobs would weigh much less. Unfortunately, the only plastic dome knobs I can find are ivory colored or black, and that's right out. So does anyone know if you can get chrome plated plastic Fender dome knobs?

Probably doesn't matter. Fender knobs attach with a screw.

The ones I took off my VM are metal... I just checked them with a magnet.

Hm. They do feel kinda heavy for plastic, but I thought that was because the appear to be two piece, I thought the body was plastic, and the insert was metal. I dunno.

Ya, thanks for the offer C, but I'm almost positive that they're metal all the way through.

eeww!

plastic chrome doesn't last, it peels. plus it's just cheesy. plus plus, removing weight from the body end just makes the neck heavier.

Plastic chrome is super-cheese. You could go withe strat knobs, I think those are somewhat period correct.
