Polycarbonate Fretboard Clearcoat

Sign in to disble this ad
I've searched for other threads on putting a clearcoat of Polycarbonate Auto Clearcoat on a fretboard (as an alternative to say a Jaco style Marine Epoxy coating). The reason would be to get the Jaco growl / frrt! on a fretless; but not have to put up with the mess of marine epoxy painting. An auto body shop should be able to do a great finish with Polycarbonate, and I understand that the wear characteristics are pretty much the same as Marine Epoxy ... Has anyone tried this??
