Hello all. OK, so i canned the whole Epoxy attempt. That wasnt fun. Poly is soooo much easier. Anyway , i am satisfied with the applications i have done, however there are some streaks in the poly still. I am sure steel wool will take care of that. But if i do that, how do i get that gloss again? My question is do i need to apply somehting else for the finishing touch? Thank you all for all your help. And after that, the next task will be trimming down this nut. Might leave that to the professionals though.

you can wait a few days to make sure it hardens completely and then wet sand like you would any other finish. I use the abralon pads (500,600,800,1000,1200, 2000, 3000 and 4000 in that order)on polyurethane and it came out quite glossy.
