is it possible to add inlays to a fretted board?

Hi! Quick question: is it possible to add inlays to an already fretted fingerboard, or you'd have to pull the frets out 1st and then refret it? I'm currently considering buying a W 'Vette (wenge fingerboard) and possibly add some inlays later on; I'd like to know if it would be better (read: easier and headache free) to just pay the cost of this extra option, instead of buying the bass stock and adding the inalys later at a local luthier or something? Tnx!

I would just pay the people at Warwick to do it. If the luthier ****s up then you are stuck with a sub par instrument that isnt covered by warranty.

A less good option, but 'safer' is vynal stick on fret markers. They actually look 100% real if you get more than 1m away, which is most people. Also if things go wrong then you can take them off, clean the board up and your back to normal.

Ok, tnx for the suggestions, guys! I was actually thinking about sticker inlays myself, but I was afraid of the "cheap visual effect" - those listed on the linked page really look cool, though! Tnx again!
