Precision nut

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi -

I need a new nut for my '75 Precision - and I want to do the operation myself.
But I need some help from you before I place my Stewmac order:

Does the original nut has a radiused bottom as seen here, or is it flat?

http://www.stewmac.com/cgi-bin/hazel...talog/sku.html

(I had the idea it had a flat bottom) My P has an all maple neck, if that's of any help.

Thanks!

They are fairly cheap, buy one of each. I believe the newer Fenders have a flat bottom and the older ones had radiused bottoms, not too sure about a '75. My best guess would be a radiused bottom.

I was a Fender dealer from 1977-1988, and did a LOT of work on instruments in that period. A 1975 would have the radius on the bottom.

Yep, 7.25" radius. They didn't do anything else (except perhaps for acoustics, the mandolin, and maybe the big jazz boxes) until the Standard and Elites came out.
