Problem with buzzing.

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an ESP LTD B155 bass. I am using the stock strings and they sound great!

Only one problem, the A string buzzes on frets 5-18. All the strings are fine, no buzzing at all.

I tried adjusting the action and the only way it won't buzz if it it is at a height that is difficult and uncormfortable to play on.

I adjusted the truss rod also.

Could it be a bad set of strings??

Thanks to anyone that can help me!

it's really hard to say. it could just be the bass's nature (crooked neck?, hopefully not). i would try another pair of strings and break them in. but that doesn't sound like a string problem. i wish i could help more. sorry.

sounds like a fret milling

is in order

assuming your nut is correctly installed and the relief on your neck is a hair concave from being 100% flat, changes are its a fret issue

warping to effect only an inside string seems very unlikely

a good tech will be able to tell in 30 seconds
