Problem with my Fender Jaguar

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, Im new here and I have registered after I found a problem with the setup of my Fender Jaguar Bass. I didn't know where to put this post but guessed this would be the safest bet.

I have noticed that there is a larger gap between strings D and A than there is between G and D and A and E. I have had 2 other basses prior to this purchase and have never encountered this problem before. Is this a normal thing with basses or am I unlucky and can I change it?

Thanks

Rich

Sounds like all you need to do is move the strings on the bridge. If it's a bridge with threaded saddles, just loosen the improperly spaced string a mite and move it over a thread or two on the bridge saddle.

In any case, it's not something that will affect the sound - just your finger placement because the spacing isn't uniform.
