Problem with tuning and sound regolation

Sign in to disble this ad
Let's see if i can explain my situation.

I use a jazz bass 4 strings but for band needs i'm tuned as follow: C#, G#, C#, F#. Basically d tuned and half a step lower.

My problem is the difference in the amount of volume i get from the low e string and the other strings obviously because the low e string is much looser and so vibrates more than the others.

What can i do to resolve this problem?

Thanks

Thanks. Too bad I'm in Italy and it would cost me more for shipping than the set itself.

Anyhow that wasn't really the answer I was looking for, but I will keep into consideration buying a new set of strings for the d-tuned option. thanks

adjust your pickups to compensate, lowering them under that low string a little.

Heavier strings, lower the pickup under the E string.

A set that starts out with a .110 E string - typically medium heavy or heavy - oughta work just fine for you at that tuning...

I use heavys, 110-50 for the same tuning. No string flop.

Cool, what gauge are the A string and the D string? I'll try that because 125 seems a little too heavy. I wouldn't want my bass to snap all of a sudden
