| It's difficult to tell, it may be inherent but I doubt it. I'd try a fresh set of strings first, sounds like some kind of overtone happening, this is usually because the pickup is to close making the magnetic field interfere with the strings vibration causing 'wolf tones', fresh strings may sort it out. Fretting high on the board there too, some basses don't react too well to the higher (past 14th maybe) fretting on the B and E?
