Problems with my lakland !!!

OK

So i got a bob glaub lakland skyline - turned up with 40s on it and played really nicely... great

skip forward to first soundcheck of tour at a film studio. My tech restrung the bass with 45s... we both thought that there would be some slight adjusting to do to the set up to accomodate the strings... but after a couple of hours of setting it up the bass was still rattling on the a string clos to the nut pretty badly and wasn't feeling as nice to play as it had been previosly...

Then we plugged it in to my head - and orange ad200b and the bass was just really pushing the head and speakers way too much in a really bad way - so we plugged into the active input... still really bad. This left me, my tech and my soundguy bemused (all three of us bass players) as we have never come across anything like it in our lives!!! a passive bass which was evenmore powerful than an active bass!!!

So my tech lowered the pickups and ripped out some of the foam which helped and made the bass sound more like it should through the head and cabs but still I think it could be better.... its still not right in my ears for it to be a passive bass and yet rediculously powerful!!

Anyone have any help or advice with these problems?
