PU´s to close to fingerboard.

Sign in to disble this ad
The PU´s on my Yamaha TRB-II4 is lying a little to close to the fingerboard to do the up/down stroke slap technique. I am considering to cut off a little bit of the fingerboard to obtain more space.
Have anybody tried out that before and is there any thing particular to take care of.

Thanks in advance (for any answer).

I guess you can do what you want with your bass, but isn't there any other place you can position your hand for plucking?
Doing what you're suggesting isn't the answer..

Don't cut off part of your fretboard, for your own eventual good.

Its easier to modify your technique than to modify your bass

That bass definitely has plenty of room for any technique. Just keep working on your technique and you will get there.

Ya, really. Plenty of room for slapping on that bass. You just need more practice. I think you'll end up junking up a fairly nice bass and still not be comfortable.
