Pull-off noisy?

Sign in to disble this ad
What does it mean when after fretting a note, when you begin to take your finger off the fret the string vibrates rather violently and it buzzes off the fret a lot? This is around the highest action of the string, say like 7th-8th frets?

I was tightening the truss rod on my p bass and now it seems like the action got higher...is this possible? (and yes I am turning clockwise) thanks for help

It means your bass is normal. That's a sound all basses make when you lift off the string while it's vibrating.

I was going to say that - and it's an "effect" you can use to shape your sound!

It's a good thing!
