Putting bridge covers over a Gotoh 201

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone tried this? I just picked up some (apparently) genuine fender bridge and pickup covers off ebay for my jazz (parts bass - not actuall a fender) and having some trouble getting it flat over the bridge. Even with a washer to hold it off the bass afew mm it still only just reached the end of the pickup.

has anyone had similar problems? or can anyone offer a solution?

Other than not putting on the cover.

I have older Gotohs' that will not fit under the Jazz ashtray...the newer ones will fit under the P cover, but not the jazz...it's just too thin....you could file the top corners rounder so the cover will fit, but that is about it. or maybe counter sink the bridge a little. John
