Putting a Hipshot B style 812 on a vintage P Bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone put, or heard of anyone putting, a Hipshot B style 812 on a Vintage style P Bass? Is the B style .812" string spacing at the bridge (compared to the stock .78" spacing) too wide for the Vintage style P bass neck?

Hey hey,
Think the bridges on the P and J's are the same. I just put a string thru B Style on my '07 J Fretless to add some weight on the body. It was a .750" though and it fit right on no mods. IME .750" is the Fender standard spacing. Drop an email to Hipshot - they were responsive to me on my questions and ordered directly from them.
Aloha, David

Hipshot did get back to me, and they thought that the 812 would be too wide for the neck.
