Question about Badass III

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there!

Tried a search, but couldn't find this little fact: I know this bridge is made for the string-through Fenders with 3-screw bridges. I have one of those, but I want to string through the bridge because of problems with flatwound strings.

So in short: does the Badass III allow for string-through-bridge as well as through-body?

Thanks!

Yes it does! What kinda bass do you have? If your getting a III, I presume you have a new jazz bass, egh? The Badass is a great bridge, I just ordered mine.

Ah, thanks! I'll order mine as well, then.

It's a '96 Jazz. 12 years, you might call that 'new'...

You have experience with it? I want it just to be able to use flats without breaking (yeah, it happened to me), so any other improvement is just a bonus to me.

It's an all right bridge. I sort of just bought mine because it said Badass on it.

BAIII and Flats

I have an o5 AM Jazz (Alder + Rosewood) w/ a BAIII and Chromes (Flats)...no problem.
As far as the BAIII Bridge the sustain is definitely better, but, with the Stock bridge it seems to breath better, more resonate.
I can't made up my mind which I like better...the sound with each bridge is so different on my bass. That's the nature of wood I guess!
