So, I have a project bass with a Fender MIM J neck on it. Problem is, the neck isn't all that straight and I can't get the action where I want it. It's playable, not terrible, but pretty high and uneven. The thing is, the neck feels wonderful, I love it!
I have a 20% off code for an online retailer and can get a new Mighty Mite J neck for like $80. The thing is, will I be happy with it, feel wise? Also, do I need to worry about it not being straight as an arrow? Do I spend more and go Warmoth? Other option?
Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

There's a satin finish on the necks, which I really like the feel of. My only problem is that the finish is thin and is starting to wear off in a few spots. The maple that the neck is made out of is nice - very solid and it looks good too. I've only gotten one small ding on the neck since I bought it, which is saying a lot because I'm not the most graceful person. It's pretty sturdy and holds up well, and the feel of the neck is great. It's also got a brighter sound than my last neck, because it's made of better quality material. |

My only complaint i guess would be that mighty mite needs to have more variety

It's not the end-all/be-all solution, but mine feels nice - - Thin like an older J neck. The fretwork needed a touch-up - - but I have to think it'd be an improvement on an FMIM neck.

I am rather positive you will get a good product. |

I believe the nut is made of standard white corian - it's not plastic or anything like that.
