A Question About Mirror Pickgaurds

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I have a question for you all!

First of all, I just ordered a Rickenbacker 4003 bass in Mapleglo, which is a total BEAST of a bass.

Second, I am about to buy a mirror pickgaurd for it, because, A), I want to keep the newness of the original pickguard, and B) because mirrors are BADASS.

Here it is: * WD Music Products - RICKENBACKER® BASS 4003 - SMOKE MIRROR

I was hoping to pull a Syd Barrett on it, and to cut out some of the mirror in favour of graphics. How might I do this?

It's a sheet of acrylic plastic, so you'll need a coping saw or other fine-toothed saw suitable for sawing plastic. Or, you could go crazy and burn holes in it with a torch; or smash it into little pieces and then glue most of the pieces back together.

Didn't Syd just glue a few small mirror pieces around the outside of his pickguard?

I'm pretty sure it was a full mirror pickgaurd. Saw will work for sure! Thanks!
