question for Epi Jack Casady bass owners

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I just purchased a Jack Casady bass at an estate sale...expect it's missing the bridge and tuners.

Would this 3-point Hipshot bridge properly fit onto the Casady bass?

http://store.hipshotproducts.com/car...t_detail&p=264

And what about the tuners? I was thinking a set of Hipshot Ultralites with the clover keys. What size do I need, 3/8" or 1/2"?

Also, has anyone tried a Darkstar in their Jack Casady bass?

Thanks a lot........Larry

I can't help with your questions about the hardware.... but if you still have the stock pickup in your bass you might give it a listen before replacing it- it sounds fantastic. But if you need a replacement pickup I would imagine the Darkstar would be awesome in a JC bass

I don't think the hipshot bridge will work on the JC's curved top. you can get a 3 pt replacement from allparts. for the tuners, make sure the shafts are the right diameter for the holes and you should be fine.

I concur about giving the stock pickup a go. I have owned one bass with a Darkstar and while I found it OK, I didn't think it was all that (blasphemy, I know). I do, however, love the tone of the stock Casady pup.

I have a Casady and the stock pickup sounds great. Put your money into the other parts and the pickup will hold up its end. And for strings, a set of Labella flats would be very nice indeed!
