Question on the small size Jazz knobs...

Need some help. I want to put the smaller sized Jazz knobs on a bass, but I don't know if the knobs are too short to put on a normal sized pot spline. Does fender use short spline pots for these knobs, or will they fit without leaving a huge gap between the bottom of the knob and the bass body?

Also, would anyone with a Jazz bass be willing to measure the spline height above the control plate? It would be greatly appreciated!
