Quick question about raising/lowering action

Do you turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to lower action?

If you are referring to the truss rod, which actually adjusts the amount of relief on the neck; Counter Clockwise increases the amount of forward bow and Clockwise is the opposite. The action is actually set using the little adjusting screws on the bridge.

There are some very good articles in the sticky posts at the top of the forum that can be used for more detailed info.

righty tighty lefty loosy - turning the screws to the right (clockwise) pushes them further into the saddles, raising them higher.
