Quick Question regarding setup

Sign in to disble this ad
So i recently put on my old round wounds on my brice fretless 5.

right not the action is super high. so this is what i plan on doing. lower the saddles. tune it up.tighten the truss rod. tune it up. and maybe play around with the saddles till i get it right.

and the strings are real tight making it a nuisance to play up high.

Be careful putting roundwounds onto a fretless. That will tear up the board in no time.

Truss rod adjustments aren't really for setting the action. Get the relief (truss rod) right first then mess with the saddles. The saddles are for setting action.

Yay! i went over to gary willis' setup page http://www.garywillis.com/pages/bass...tupmanual.html

and my bass is good to go now, and im ready for shredding.

BTW a mod should really add that site to Hambone's sticky up at the top. I swear that link was there years ago.
