I'm very tired and could do with going to bed cos I'm in the studio tomorrow. Could anyone be proper awesome and tell me how I can raise the string height near the nut? Do I have to tighten up the truss rod and raise my saddles a bit to even out the action?
Plus which way do you have to adjust the saddles to make the 12th fret higher/lower compared to the open string? Is it toward the neck to make it higher and away to make it lower I've completely forgotten. |

- moving saddle back lowers harmonic
- moving saddle forward raises harmonic |

As of right now, I could afford to either get a new nut and start over, or shim it. I think I might shim it with some black electrical tape, I'm really in no mood to do a whole new nut because I've done it already and I'm not in the mood to spend more time on it. I suppose that's what I get for being overzealous and impatient. |

heck I should just go with fretless and not bother with meticulous setup procedures |

I mean you can always raise it, it's really up to you. I'm just a real stickler for detail and that's how I am. |

I just have to pretty much try and ignore anything that isn't perfect... I'll leave it be for now though seeming though it sounded so good, the setup seemed to do alot for making it sound alot deeper and louder unplugged and subsequently plugged in. Made for a very nice recording of it | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
