If this is in the wrong section I'm sorry.

In the attempt of killing a spider i accidently got bug spray over some guitars and basses. i wiped them off to the best of my ability. can this harm the finishes?

Probably a little bit, but if you didn't see the paint bubbling up within the first few minutes, you have nothing to worry about.

Most household pesticides are designed not to harm Urethane finishes.

They do persist for a few weeks, so I would make a point to clean the affected areas with a cloth DAMPENED with a warm water/detergent solution. Note the caps on the word DAMPENED. I mean moist, but not dripping. Let no water or soap get into pots, wiring, or pickups.

The idea is to get the poison off of the instrument and avoid getting it on your skin or clothing.

You could also use something like the Fender Mist and Wipe or Sadowsky Everyday Cleaner. Gibson Pump Polish would be my choice if any of the instruments are finished in Nitro.

Wash your hands AFTER playing these instruments for the next few weeks.

I let spiders live, if possible. They kill more pests than Raid.

Thanks for the advice, I hate killing things but it was right next to my bed and spiders creep me out.
