raising the string hight

I understand how to add relief and how to raise the saddles but how do you know which one is better for your needs? My bass has very little relief in the neck and of course the notes are buzzing. I cannot dig in and go hard because the notes choke off, especially after the 5th fret. Should I raise the saddles?

thanks

steve

Arrow ACTION

Add some relief and raise the saddles. This way your action will be the same height up and down the neck. If you like digging in, this would be the most suitable action for you.

Steve,

If this is for your G&L, just bring it by the store and I'll take care of it for you.

Yeah Matt,

I know you will. I am just trying to avoid a trip into Manhatten. Unless I'm working Saturday, I just may come in. Also, I'm a "do it your selfer", so of course I want to do it my self. But so far I may end up in your shop Saturday.

Thanks Matt
