i'd like to put a 'ramp' on my warwick corvette inbetween the two pickups. any suggestions?

shape and size?
materials?
construction?
non-damaging installation?

i was thinking the height screws for the pickups could also be used to hold down the ramp. anyone done this?

My Zon 'Vinny' VB5 has a ramp, and I really like it! Zon made it for the bass, but it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to make one. The toughest part might be making the top radius to match the fingerboard, unless you have or are able to make a radiusing block.

My ramp is swamp ash to match the bass, and it's simply mounted with double sided tape. At first I felt like it would be better to mount it some other way but I've had the bass for a couple of years and the mounting has never presented any issues. I pulled it off a couple of times and the finish under it is fine.

FRESNORICH!! thats exactly the kind of ramp i had in mind. what material did you use? did u need to sand it, or are ur pickups just perfectly level?

I wish I could take credit for the design, but it came with the Fender Roscoe Beck IV. It's made of acrylic and it's flat (as are the pickups), not radiused. I like the fact that it uses the pickup screws and doesn't touch the finish of the bass.

If you're thinking doing one you might consider using this:

I have not used them yet but it looks kind of cool. I thought about trying it out for a ramp once. With carefulk measurement, given the accuracy of the CAD-like design program, it looks like you could get a finished ramp that fits perfectly.
