Ramp questions: taste, style & ABGs...

Okey, I recently found out about ramps (a bass guy at my local GC had me try out his basses after he tried out mine) and I was impressed. I mean, I came across something that allows for a consistently lighter touch and greater speed on my bass that already has excessively low action - more even tone and less buzz awaits!

Anyway, being new to ramps I have a few questions that I could find neither on the web nor using the TB search function, so here goes:

1) Is there any advantage in using a Weinkum-ramp versus a Willis-ramp?

2) Would it ruin the aesthetics of my gorgeous Spalt Magma 601 fretless?

Oddly, I have no pics of just the bass...

3) Will putting a ramp on an acoustic bass guitar cause me to lose significant loudness?

Thanks in advance!
