The rarity of Leo Quan bridges

Sign in to disble this ad
I heard a rumor that they stopped making these bridges.

I've seen a lot of online shops are out of stock and the ones on Ebay are going for quite more than what I paid for mine 5 years ago.

I know that I'm probably not going to be able to put my kid through college if I sell mine, but what kind of markup can I expect out of these rare items?

Can I expect that once they are being made again for the value of the current bridges to go down in price?

They are going for up to $200 for brand new ones on eBay these days, which is ridiculous.

I've read tons and tons of rumors, but no facts. Leo Quann passed away, they're not going to be made any more, ad nauseum.

This is just my hypothesis, but I would think Fender would buy the company and start making them again, 'cause they'd be sitting on a Cash Cow. But that is just MY OPINION.

Others will disagree.

Of course if/when they come back into production, I'm going to have a good laugh at everyone that paid $200 for an $80 bridge.

Stewie, you're judgmentally quoting bible verses and you don't even know how to read!

I was on GC's site the other day looking at tubes and out of curiosity I looked and they showed limited stock on the BA II. Don't know if that's accurate, but it's a free call to find out.

Since I consider them to be completely unnecessary, the entire situation is amusing to me.

I bought a '64 EB-0 that had one of those BA things on it, immediately removed it and re-installed the factory bar bridge (which conveniently covered up the screw holes from the BA), and cheerfully sold it to a sucker on Ebay for a decent amount of money.

As far as I'm concerned, the earth will continue revolving quite nicely without a new supply of BA bridges. But that's just my opinion.
