Rattling re-fretted rick

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
A few weeks ago I had to take my -73 Rick 4001 to the music store to replace the frets. The bass is heavily played, and there are marks everywhere except for on the actual fretboard, that is still shining! A few years ago I had to have the frets ground off, since there were marks so deep it was impossible to play. It was just an action to be able to play the bass for a year or two more, without having to re-fret.

I think they did a great job re-fretting, however, I am not very happy with how the bass plays now. The neck is adjusted so that the strings are rather high down the neck. It is still in the range of what is "normal", and i am not so sure if would be wise to go higher (maybe anohter millimeter or two). The problem is, I play pretty hard, and I like to use a pick on this bass, but I get rattles so much easier than I did before I re-fretted. Now, my question is, are there any other ways to make this go away than to adjust the neck to increase the string height? Is i.e. changing to a higher saddle, to increase height slightly to the head an option?

Sry for poor english.
