Re-chroming / gold plating
 

I am looking for a method to re-chrome some bridges or gold plate them. Has anyone tried this at home. Any success?

I've been wondering the same thing too.

Pretty sure you need an electroplating set up. There is a chance you could find a place that has one and you could see if you can pay them to do it for you.

Yep, You'll need a electroplating setup.

Unfortunately something like a bridge is way too complicated shape to plate at home on a budget if any kind of even surface is the goal.

The homebrewn kits and the cheaper DIY kits are for plating rings and such.

Unless Your desire is to start small electroplating business (not necesessarily a bad idea), take it to a place that does electroplating.
The initial investment is at least 10 times the amount that they'll charge for plating one bridge.

OTOH, if You're a DIYholic like I am, the 'net is filled with instructions how to do it.
Just make sure that You don't break any toxic/hazardous material laws when shopping, the authorities tend to monitor the trading of the chemicals used in the process.
