Re-stringing problems.

So, my Traben Chaos Core is refusing to restring. I had Blue Steels on it, and now I'm trying to put Hybrid Slinkies. The peg is turning, but the string will not wrap around the peg and it's bugging the heck out of me.
Any help, guys and gals?

Is the shaft turning when you turn the tuning peg?

Insert end of string into middle of tuner(the hole, not the slot). Push in as far as you can, then bend a 90 degree angle and start winding the peg, keeping the wraps going from top to bottom.

The only thing I can understand from the post is that you're not inserting it into the hole, just trying to wrap it around the peg. Maybe i'm misunderstanding though
