a really easy question for u all...

If i was to convert a five string B-G to E-C would i just need to change the nut and thats it??

No. The instrument will require a setup including having the bridge intonated.

that would be the only peice of the instrument that would need to be replaced. you would need to re-setup your bass tho.

I did it without changing my nut without any problems. You will need to adjust the truss-rod and bridge saddles (for action and intonation).
