Recommend me an adjustable 5-string bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a 5-string Stellar Neptune passive 34"-scale bass and I need a new bridge.

My current bridge is narrow (I measured 14mm between strings but I could be wrong) and several adjusting screws are bent or stripped (can't fix low B intonation). Even though this is a low-end bass, I really like it other than the string spacing.

I want the replacement to have adjustable width since I'm not sure what width I really want yet, but I'm looking for 17-19mm. I hope that wouldn't push the B and G strings off the sides of the fingerboard. It would be great if it came in black. Budget is a consideration.

I appreciate any suggestions you have for me.

I did some measurements and mockups and figured I couldn't go over 18mm string spacing without the strings being dangerously close to the edge of the fretboard, so I bought an "economy" ($21) bridge in the same style as my current one, but with fixed 17.8something mm spacing. I guess the reality of spending $80-$100 for a bridge for a $100 bass sank in.
