Refinishing in NYC

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know of anyone that does bass refinishing in NYC? One of my spectors has tons of dings on the front that look bad because the cracks are in the clear coat. It's a plum stain. I wanted to know 1. would the bass has to be restained or can they just strip the clear coat off and re do it?

If they have to restain the whole thing I want to keep it the same color. So does anyone know of someone in NYC that does this kind of work?

ANd typically what does it cost to strip a bass, restain it and re gloss it?

This can easily run $500 for a quality job, and even more. I've looked into it and always decided to live with the imperfections of a well-loved bass.

Yeah I was thinking of just going to the drug store and finding a shade of nail polish that's close to the color. It's just an eye sore because there are a bunch of these little knicks in the body and when the gloss cracks it stands out bad because it has a white color to it. I used the nail polish thing on a couple of the older knicks but I have like to or so right on the front of the bass and it's an eye sore. I think a cable in the case was banging up against the body
