Regretfully a Noobish question about tuning.

Hey Ya'll. I have an incredibly newbish question here. When tuning, what pickup/tone setting do you use? I have quiet a few basses w/ 2 pickups and sometimes many settings! Aria SB-900 with lotsa knobs, dials, and switches to Beatle basses with Lead/Rhythm switches. Does it matter? If it does, what to set the bass at to tune it!

use the bridge pickup ( jazz pickup ) when tuning with harmonics especially

i find, the fundamental note is picked up better that way ( midrangey ) to the tuner!

Different pickup tone settings *might* afect how well your tuner picks up the signal, but they have nothing otherwise to do with the tuning itself which is a result of the string tension.

Some tuners don't read the low frequencies very well, so for those you should move to the rear pickup to accentuate the mids.

But it just depends on the bass and the tuner.
