reliable techs in South Fla?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I'm been searching for a reliable bass or guitar tech for the past few months and have been left frustrated.

I don't have time to repair my own gear nor to learn how to, plus I don't trust myself with a soldering iron, so I'd rather outsource it and just pay for a good tech. Also whenever I need to re-tube I'd like to be able to pick up the phone and get it done.

Here's what I need:

A tech that can:

1. setup a bass (correctly!)

2. be able to use a soldering iron to remove some pots and re-wire some new volume and tone pots.

3. switch out some tuning machines

4. remove and replace a badass bridge II and slot the lines for the strings on a new bridge.

I'd rather not go to a GC, because I really have not been satisfied with a simple bass setup. I wanted to ask about either Sam Ash in Miami-Dade County, Broward County or Palm Beach County or if anyoone knows of a good mom and pop shop?

I live in Kendall (un incorporated Miami-Dade County) I am willing to hop on the Turnpike or I-95 to The Keys, Miami area, Ft. Lauderdale/Broward, or Palm Beach area...

It sucks that I have to ask this because I have lived in Atlanta and the Maryland/Virginia/DC area and you can always find someone around those cities! In Miami I just can't find a solid tech! Any help would be amazing, thanks guys!

Kaufman/Daenzer Music in Lantana/Lake Worth. Waiting for Kevin to work on it might take a while, but the tech is good too. Just west of I95 at the 10th Ave Exit .

Stay OUT of the GC in west palm beach......run screaming from their current tech, at least the guy who works on Sat / Sunday occasionally. I think he though because I was female that I wouldn't realize he was clueless. One I talked to on the phone (different guy, jason maybe?) sounded intelligent, but he's not been there every time I've gone, and they wouldn't hold my bass for him ONLY to work on-they said who ever was working works on em. *shudder*

I live way north of you .......and have same tech issue . Only two I know are way backlogged, have a couple issues I need to get fixed myself but don't wanna leave a bass for weeks......
Hope you find someone!

When I used to live in SoFla I could never find a reliable tech . This is the main reason why I ended up learning to do my own set up and repair work .
