Relic a p-bass neck?

Sign in to disble this ad
My cousin came over with his new bass, a fender custom shop relic p-bass. I was struck by how the neck felt. It had that "worn in" feel, as though it had been rubbed by hands for 30 years, and was really smooth and satin-y. I guess the relic trick really works, because this is what I imagined that Sting's bass must feel like!

Anyway, aside from being really jealous, I am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make the neck on my p-bass feel similar. I am not so much interested in the cosmetic aspects of relic-ing, just the way that neck felt!
