Removed scratchplate - screw holes left...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I recently removed the pretty ugly metallic scratchplate from my MM SUB and I'd like to keep it this way. What bothers me is the screw holes that's left...

Anyone have a good suggestion on how to cover them up? And in a way that makes it possible to put the scratchplate back on if wanted. I painted them (the holes) with a black indian ink but they're sitll quite visible.

Another option would be to order a black etc. scratchplate but I haven't found any where I live and I don't have a credit card to order from abroad...

Cheers.

Hello, I think, You may order a scartplatte in firm with make signboard etc. They cutting a letter shapes from some kind of materials. Maybe they can cut a shape like you'r scarplate, for example with transparent vinyl etc..
Once I had a similar problem.

I bet they'd want money for it...

I guess I could cut one out myself if I found a suitable piece of plastic etc... but I think it's kind of hard to come by something that looks nice and isn't too shiny etc. Anyone have suggestions where to get something like this?

What about just putting the screws back in the holes. It might look kinda neat.

Try wood filler, if you want to put it back on you can probably use a power drill. Ask someone at a hardware store, and mention the type of wood.
