Removing bushing on a Fender Precision

I've just decided to replace the original chrome hardware from a Fender Precision RI70 (CIJ) to gold hardware including an Hipshot BT2 extender, Badass and so on... I've got some difficulties removing the original bushing on the peghead. Is there anybody in the place who can explain a reliable and safe way to do that?

I go in from the back with a big screwdriver and a hammer...............works for me!!
