removing precision bass nut

Sign in to disble this ad
I realize this has been covered in a lot of threads but I decided to replace the nut on my p bass by myself as it appeared a relatively simple task.
When I went to remove the nut it came out quite easily but a little bit has been left on and its stuck pretty hard to the nut trough. So I'm a bit uncertain about how best to remove this little bit because I dont want to cause any damage. Also its quite low down so i can't grab it with anything to pull it out.

What would you recommend as the safest way to get this part out?

You could try compressed air. It might dislodge it enough to get a hold of the piece and pull it out.

I use a miniature offset chisel.
