Repair costs Ibanez Roadstar II rb-999?
Hey, I own an Ibanez Roadstar II RB-999 (bean bass) which has a problem with the electrical wiring. The jack (made of plastic)
broke in half and got disconnected from the wires.
You get the picture
It's a pretty simple repair probably just involving soldering as well
as a new input jack, but unfortunately I am unskilled in this type of work.
Do you know how much this type of repair would go for?
Thanks

ok, first things first, fix that 'input jack' thing before Line6man shows up and write:

it's Output Jack

Haha, nothing personal L6!

An output jack it's about 3$ on the expensive side, on the cheap side 1,50$ buy a switchcraft and solder the lead and ground.. it's not that hard..

Take a look on the old jack and see which cables goes to which lug.. that's it.. solder them.. and enjoy...

+1 on the diy -- repairing output jacks is one of the easier repairs, and one of the high-occurrence ones you'll run into.

Having a shop do it shouldn't cost more than $10-$15. $3-5 for the jack, plus labor. If it's a friendly shop, and you go with some frequency, they could knock it out cheaper to encourage you to become a repeat customer.
