Repairing neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I am trying to help my wife, who is the bass player. She has a washburn and hadn't played it for many years, now the neck is warped so that the largest string(E I think) buzzes from where is partly rests on one of the frets, the bridge(I think that is what it is) has been raised as high as it can go and it didn't fix it. Is there any way to repair it, it does have a bolt on neck. I checked and can't seem to find any replacement neck which is why I mention it.

As a side note I was looking to find a replacement for her, and I found this one,

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-L...17-i1166278.gc

she loves H R Geiger, but I have no idea about the bass itself.

Thank you for any help, I would appreciate it.

It's possible that all her bass needs is a trussrod adjustment and a setup from a good bass tech.

That Ibanez is a good bass. The neck is great to play on and you can get some good sounds from it. If you get one replace the strings with something better as usually these basses don't use the best sounding strings when shipped from the factory.

I have an Ibanez with the same pickups and electronics. The Giger looks very much like the now discontinued SRX 700--a very nice bass.

youll probably be paying 300 dollars extra for the finish and artwork alone on that bass :/. Its pretty much a standard ibanez SRX with a fancy finish.

Thanks I appreciate the input, she took it to a guitar shop and they tried to fix it. Although they may not have tried that with the trussrod.

As for the $300 I figured as such, but I know she'd love it. She has Necronomicon 1 and 2. Sad though, the other Geiger guitars Ibanez sells aren't basses, they're really nice, and cost it too.
