| Replacement Bridge on 2008 Fender Jazz V?

Let me rephrase this cause I realized my initial post (in a hurry at work) was poorly worded and full of tangential thoughts.
I have an amazing bass that is somehow superior to most of the Fender Jazz Vs (that I've played) in clarity, B-string authority, sustain, evenness, and growl. It has all the crispness you could want, but it's also got a huge low end and tons of growl, with the right amount of bite. It's very comparable to the Sadowsky and Mike Lull basses I've played in all respects - fit and finish included.
However, the only "flaw" that I see with it is that the bridge is not a quick-release. Not a big deal, except when you're changing strings often or don't want to worry about scratching the finish behind the bridge (I usually don't load through-the-body). So I've been thinking about swapping the stock bridge with a Hipshot B or bent-plate, simply for the quick-release capability. I do not want to change the overall character of the bass, though, unless I add a little more mid-range punch and resonant character (like my P-basses have acoustically with their Hipshot bent-plate bridges).
Has anyone placed a Hipshot B or Bent-plate style bridge onto a Fender Jazz V? What are your thoughts? Did it do anything to the tone that you noticed? Was it a direct fit? Any issues? Any reason I shouldn't make the swap?
FWIW, I really like the Fender bridge. If it had a quick-release feature, I'd keep it without question.
