Replacement Bridge for Jerry Jones Longhorn Bass 4

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello virtual world of low enders.
this is my first time using talkbass!
anywho, I have an old Jerry Jones Longhorn bass 4 with the original rosewood bridge and really would like to upgrade to a
fully adjustable one. I have seen the Danelectro 'pro' replacement but all sites/vendors seem to be completely sold out. I have also tried to reach JJ but they (he) is now retired and his shop is closed. I would spring to have someone make me a drop in replacement. Any ideas?

don't you dare! (unless you come across a real early JJ adjustable replacement that doesn't alter the bass )

i've had good luck on danos just replacing the wooden saddle itself with one fashioned from bone, or even brass.

shape it right and it doesn't need to be "fully adjustable"; the whole thing can be slid up or back until the intonation is good.

I don't know if a Danelectro Pro bridge (adjustable) will fit on one of Jerry's Longhorn's.

If you can, keep your eyes open for one of Jerry's "Neptune" bridges which is the chrome fully adjustable version. They pop up on Ebay every now and then.

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up finding a Allparts "adjustable" drop in replacement that needed modding. I had to file and flip the saddles along with drilling new holes so it can be truly adjustable (major pain in the arse but fulfilled a lack of something to do on a afternoon...) Took several tries but FINALLY have it solid and in tune on every fret....
