Replacement Nut for MiM Fender Jazz

Hey guys I have a MiM jazz, the old nut on it just kind of fell apart...I looked around and found the "Graph Tech TUSQ XL Fender Jazz Bass 4 String Nut " Thinking that I could just drop it on in and have it be a replacement...it didn't fit and I tried sanding it but still no go on it..anyone know a good replacement that won't require me to sand or do anything?

No. There's no such thing as a drop in nut - they all require proper fitting and adjustment.

That would be the nut I would recommend. I currently have it on three basses, all J basses, two different neck widths (and widths at the nut). No problem with any off them.

What exactly is the issue?

Haha...ohhh I feel so stupid right now. Sorry for the dumb question! I'll just order another one and take it to the local guitar store I guess
