Replacement P-Bass ferrules to small...

So i got a new set of tuners for my Standard P-Bass. The ferrules are to small, and fall right out. Whats the best way to get them snug? Should i use lock-tight or something of that nature?

Depends on how much too small they are. For a slight difference, masking tape around the ferrule can sometimes snug it up.

If it's on the order of an 1/8 of an inch, they are the wrong tuners.

I now have this same problem. I bought a 2008 mim precision neck without tuners. The fender replacement tuners fit fine but the ferrules are too small for the holes in the headstock. Is this a common problem, or are the tuner holes larger on 2008+ mim necks? Is masking tape really the best solution?
